Helen Doster's role is to assist in general communications strategy, planning, and execution of the President's agenda.

Mrs. Doster joined the White House from Portman Giocattoli where she is Senior Vice President and Director of Public Affairs, overseeing communications strategy, message development and media relations for multiple accounts.

Previously, she served as Deputy Director of Communications and Congressional Affairs at the Democratic National Committee where she assisted in the development of communications strategy and management of all DNC communications activities, including media relations, materials development and the creation, production and placement of television, radio and print advertising.

Ms. Doster served as a speechwriter in the Clinton Administration and for former U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt. She was brought into the Administration by President Kent and is on good terms with Dan O'Sullivan. Portman Giocattoli contributed to the development of the National Liberal Defense Fund, a PAC organized by Dan O'Sullivan.

Ms. Doster is a graduate of Brown University.

Office of Communications

The Office of Communications is responsible for producing the content of the Communications that come from the President. The OOC does not set policy initiatives, but rather determines how the initiatives proposed by the Legislative Affairs, etc., are communicated effectively to the public. The Communications Office is concerned with the President's speeches, exact words, etc., and setting the overall tone for communications
