Assistant to the President for Communications
Helen Doster's role is to assist
in general communications strategy, planning, and execution of the President's
agenda.
Mrs. Doster joined
the White House from Portman Giocattoli where she is Senior Vice President
and Director of Public Affairs, overseeing communications strategy, message
development and media relations for multiple accounts.
Previously, she served as Deputy
Director of Communications and Congressional Affairs at the Democratic
National Committee where she assisted in the development of communications
strategy and management of all DNC communications activities, including
media relations, materials development and the creation, production and
placement of television, radio and print advertising.
Ms. Doster served
as a speechwriter in the Clinton Administration and for former U.S. Senator
Ted Kennedy and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt. She
was brought into the Administration by President Kent and is on good terms
with Dan O'Sullivan. Portman Giocattoli contributed to the development
of the National Liberal Defense Fund, a PAC organized by Dan O'Sullivan.
Ms. Doster is a graduate of
Brown University.

Office of Communications
The Office of Communications is responsible for producing the content
of the Communications that come from the President. The OOC does not set
policy initiatives, but rather determines how the initiatives proposed
by the Legislative Affairs, etc., are communicated effectively to the
public. The Communications Office is concerned with the President's speeches,
exact words, etc., and setting the overall tone for communications
